I started Ji Kai Martial Arts out of necessity, not because of what I wanted, but to supply my students with what they needed. I had never desired to teach because of the responsiblity that a true Sensei undertakes. A true Sensei is a person who can pick out the hidden talents of people by looking at the way they move. A Sensei must be able to teach anyone, man, woman or child. This is the reason for the formation of Ji Kai Martial Arts! There is nothing that I can show or teach that is "mine". All of the waza that I teach is simply what I have been taught through the years. Please remember that the position I hold is not one of prestige, but one of great responsibility. I do feel that I have picked the very best style or Ryu that I have been exposed to. Kuniba Soke's style was the most complete Art that I have seen in thirty years of training. I don't know how many times I have witnessed Kuniba waza being done by people who had never heard of him. I, along with others, promised to keep Kuniba Ryu alive and I will keep that promise whether I train alone or with others. I hope that I will find students who will surpass me in knowledge and abilities. This is my challenge to you!
